MANILA, Philippines — San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora yesterday declared June 30 a special non-working holiday for the inauguration of president-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Zamora said there is a need to ensure the safety of the residents and those working in the city, who may be affected by road closures during Marcos’ inaugural.
Meanwhile, Zamora and other city officials yesterday took their oath of office before Sen. Imee Marcos.
Zamora and his sister, Ysabel Maria Zamora, who was elected congresswoman, attended mass at the FilOil Flying V Center prior to the oath-taking.
“I am grateful to the people of San Juan who have entrusted me the position of mayor for the second time,” he said.
Zamora vowed to construct more barangay halls, multi-purpose buildings, covered basketball courts and public school buildings during his second term.
