MANILA, Philippines — A Saudi Arabian Airlines plane got stuck at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport after it skidded at the NAIA Terminal 1 runway yesterday afternoon.
The Saudia flight SV 862, a Boeing 777-300, had touched down at around 1:47 p.m. when its six right landing gear veered off the pavement at the end portion of taxiway Charlie while maneuvering toward bay parking 5 at the airport.
The flight carried a total of 420 passengers and crew, who are all safe.
Domestic and international flights at the NAIA were not affected by the incident, Manila International Airport Authority general manager Ed Monreal said.
Monreal and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines director general Jim Sydiongco went to the site to supervise the recovery operations.
