Beware of false surveys offering aid – Sandoval
MANILA, Philippines — Residents of Malabon City should not fall victim to promises of various kinds of aid included in survey forms allegedly released by the local government, incoming mayor Jeannie Sandoval said over the weekend.
In a statement, Sandoval said she received reports about the Community and Urban Poor Affairs Office (CUPAO) distributing survey forms to residents.
Once accomplished, she said the residents would be assured of assistance such as relief goods, jobs and even land and housing.
Sandoval said individuals using the logo of the Malabon Citizens Welfare Association Inc. were collecting signatures from elderly and disabled residents, and later on told they would be given benefits.
She disowned the dissemination of such survey forms and the promises that came with these.
Sandoval pointed out that there might be no funding for these kinds of assistance in the city government’s 2022 budget.
The CUPAO also disputed the reported distribution of survey forms wherein false promises were offered to the residents.
It said it tapped barangay officials to conduct a survey to determine the number of unvaccinated residents as part of its profiling.
