SC justice Singh catches COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court (SC) reported yesterday that Associate Justice Maria Filomena Singh tested positive for COVID on Wednesday.
Singh is fully vaccinated and has received her booster shot, the SC said.
She exhibited mild symptoms of the viral disease.
Other SC justices who interacted with Singh during court deliberations on June 14 as well as her staff went on quarantine.
They will undergo reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction or RT-PCR tests, the high tribunal said.
“None of those who interacted with Singh had manifested symptoms as of yesterday,” the SC said.
Singh will be working from home in accordance with the guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
The SC has been conducting weekly antigen tests for its officials and employees as part of precautionary measures amid the reported increase in COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila.
