Cental Luzon wage hike to take effect June 20
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines — A new wage order granting an increase of P40 in the daily take-home pay of minimum wage workers in Central Luzon will take effect on June 20.
The National Wages and Productivity Commission affirmed the grant of the wage hike, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board chairperson and Department of Labor and Employment-Central Luzon director Geraldine Panlilio said on Tuesday.
She said the wage hike would be given in two tranches – P30 upon effectivity of the wage order and P10 on Jan. 1, 2023.
Panlilio said the new minimum wage in Central Luzon provinces, except in Aurora, would increase to P450 in non-agriculture establishments with 10 or more workers and P443 in establishments with less than 10 workers.
In Aurora, the daily minimum wage of non-agricultural workers will increase to P399; plantation workers, P384, and non-plantation workers, P372.
The minimum wage of workers in retail and service establishments in the province will increase to P334.
In other provinces in Central Luzon, plantation workers will receive P420 while non-plantation workers will get P404.
On the other hand, the daily minimum wage in retail and service establishments with 10 or more workers will increase to P439 and P425 in establishments with less than 10 workers.
Domestic workers in Central Luzon will also receive an increase of P500 in their minimum monthly salary.
This will bring their minimum pay to P5,000 in chartered cities and first class municipalities and P4,500 in other areas.
