Bagong Ospital ng Maynila opens June 24
MANILA, Philippines — The Manila city government is set to formally open the Bagong Ospital ng Maynila on June 24, coinciding with the city’s 451st founding anniversary, Mayor Isko Moreno said yesterday.
In a Facebook Live address, Moreno said he and his successor, incumbent vice mayor and mayor-elect Honey Lacuna-Pangan, plan to inaugurate the new hospital.
The 10-story, fully air-conditioned hospital would feature 384 beds, six operating rooms, a neonatal intensive care unit, two intensive care units that would segregate patients of infectious and non-infectious diseases and various hospital equipment like magnetic resonance imaging, CT scan, 4-D ultrasound and X-ray machines, he added.
It also has a so-called “healing garden” and an esplanade connecting the old and new Ospital ng Maynila buildings.
The city government was previously granted a P5-billion loan by the Development Bank of the Philippines to fund projects like the Bagong Ospital ng Maynila. The city government spent P2.3 billion for the construction of the hospital alone.
