DSWD gets children’s books from Japan
MANILA, Philippines — The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Monday turned over mental health books for children to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
JICA Philippines chief representative Takema Sakamoto handed over 1,500 copies of the books “Sarilaysay” and “Ang mga Eroplanong Papel” to DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista at the agency’s central office in Quezon City.
The books will be distributed to children in DSWD-managed care facilities in the National Capital Region and the Council for the Welfare of Children.
Irene Dumlao, officer-in-charge of the DSWD Social Marketing Service, said some of the books would be distributed to children of beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps.
