MANILA, Philippines — Thousands of local and overseas jobs are up for grabs in the nationwide job fairs to be held on June 12, coinciding with the Independence Day celebration.

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Information and Publication Service director Rolly Francia said the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan would be the main venue.

Francia said president-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and vice president-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio are invited to attend the event.

“We expect that we will be able to surpass the 153,000 jobs that were offered by companies on Labor Day,” Francia said.

He said about 200 local and overseas employers have expressed willingness to participate in the job fairs.

Local employment opportunities include those in the fields of construction, administrative, clerical, business process outsourcing, educational, hospitality, tourism and health.

In Central Visayas, the DOLE said close to 4,000 job vacancies would be made available during the 2022 “Kalayaan, Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan” event.
