MANILA, Philippines — Two bomb scares occurred in Malabon and Manila on Friday.
A sling bag abandoned inside a jeepney in Malate, Manila on Friday night triggered the first incident.
The bag was left by a still unidentified passenger who rode the Baclaran-Blumentritt jeepney and alighted in Ermita, according to Manila Police District public information chief Maj. Philipp Ines.
Anti-bomb operatives inspected the bag and instead found a cell phone charger, a metal wing band for fighting cocks, pliers and a nail cutter, among others.
This happened hours after the Malabon city hall received a bomb threat on Friday morning.
The city hall received a text message to a command center operator, according to Malabon police chief Col. Albert Barot.
The building was cleared of any explosive device at around 8:30 a.m.
