DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Minimum wage earners in Davao region will receive an increase in their daily take-home pay starting June 18.
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board published in a local daily yesterday a new wage order granting an initial increase of P31.
Another P16 will be given on Jan. 1, 2023 while an additional P15 will be given to those working in retail and service establishments with less than 10 workers on April 1, 2023.
The minimum rate in the region will range from P438 to P443 with the full implementation of the wage order.
The bulk of workers in Southern Mindanao are in the agriculture and service sectors.
The National Wages and Productivity Commission had earlier affirmed the new wage orders in Metro Manila, Central Visayas, Mimaropa, Cagayan Valley and Soccsksargen.
The wage boards in Bicol, the Cordilleras, Northern Mindanao and Central Luzon also approved salary hikes for minimum wage earners.
The wage orders likewise granted an increase in the monthly salary of domestic workers.
