Motorcycle rider dies in smash-up

MANILA, Philippines — A motorcycle rider died after he figured in a collision with a sport utility vehicle and a truck in Sta. Mesa, Manila before dawn yesterday.

Kevin Daganan was on a motorcycle when he crashed into a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Orlando Reyes along the eastbound lane of Magsaysay Boulevard, traffic investigators said.

Daganan then hit the right rear tire of a truck driven by Danilo Miras.

Police said the truck had pulled to a stop at the time of the accident.

Daganan died at the scene.
