Negros Occidental sets 8-day vax drive
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The provincial government of Negros Occidental aims to achieve a 100 percent vaccination rate of its target population, with the launch of an eight-day inoculation campaign next month.
Provincial health officer Dr. Ernell Tumimbang said the simultaneous vaccination would be held every Thursday and Friday in the first three weeks and Monday and Tuesday in the last week.
He said 76 percent of the 80 percent or 1.8 million residents eligible residents have been fully vaccinated.
Tumimbang said the Department of Health regional office gave assurance that it would provide the needed logistics during the vaccination days.
He said private companies are also donating vaccines to the province.
