MANILA, Philippines — Illegal drugs with an estimated street value of more than P2 million were seized from five suspects during a police operation in Trece Martires, Cavite, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported yesterday.
Suspects Cosain Bangon, 66; Kadir Batao, 26; Hakim Batao, 24; Mobarak Batao Sr., 58, and Mobarak Batao Jr., 22, were collared during a sting at the Beverly Homes Subdivision at around 9 p.m. on Saturday, according to Brig. Gen. Randy Peralta, chief of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group.
Police seized from the suspects 300 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2.04 million, three pistols, ammunition, weighing scales, five mobile phones, identification cards and a car.
Aside from drug cases, charges for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and the Omnibus Election Code’s gun ban will be filed against the suspects.
