Nueva Ecija Rep proclaimed for final term

MANILA, Philippines — Rep. Ria Vergara of the third district of Nueva Ecija was proclaimed yesterday for a final term in the House of Representatives.

Vergara garnered 180,888 votes with a margin of 20,966 over her opponent, former Nueva Ecija governor and congresswoman Cherry Umali.

This will be Vergara’s third term as district representative after she won three consecutive elections against the Umali clan.

After her proclamation, Vergara proceeded to Plaza Lucero in Cabanatuan to thank her constituents for their support and trust.

She vowed to continue transparency in fund allocation for social services such as medical, educational and employment assistance programs.
