MANILA, Philippines — Roads in three cities in Metro Manila would be closed for the miting de avance of three presidential candidates today, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced yesterday.

A lane along Diokno Boulevard in Parañaque would be closed for the last campaign rally of UniTeam presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, at the corner of Diokno Boulevard and Aseana Avenue.

In a traffic advisory yesterday, the MMDA said Diokno Boulevard’s segment from Bradco to Aseana Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic until 11:30 p.m.

One-lane parking will be allowed from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. along Roxas Boulevard, Macapagal Boulevard, Diokno Boulevard, Seaside Drive and Marina Avenue.

In another advisory, the MMDA said there would also be road closures in Manila for the miting de avance of Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and his running mate, Dr. Willie Ong.

The MMDA said the stretch of Moriones street, from Mel Lopez Boulevard to N. Zamora street, will be closed from noon onwards.

The actual closing and opening of affected roads will be based on the actual traffic situation, the MMDA added.

The city government of Makati earlier announced the partial closure of roads in the city starting last night until 6 a.m. tomorrow for the miting de avance of Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate, Sen. Francis Pangilinan.

Portions of Ayala Avenue, Paseo de Roxas, Makati Avenue and V.A. Rufino and Salcedo streets would be closed to traffic.

The MMDA called on affected motorists to take alternate routes and plan their trips accordingly.
