P1.36 million shabu seized in Bicutan

MANILA, Philippines — Police confiscated around 200 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P1.36 million in Taguig City on Thursday.

The shabu was recovered from Akmad Sumlay, 30, who was arrested in a sting in Barangay New Lower Bicutan at around 7 p.m., Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said.

Sumlay, a high-value target in the illegal drug trade, allegedly negotiated a deal with an undercover police officer for a pack of shabu in return for P40,000, according to Macaraeg.

The suspect is being held on charges of drug trafficking.
