MANILA, Philippines — Two people were injured after an electric post, to which dozens of electricity meters were attached, collapsed in Tondo, Manila yesterday.
Eliseo Jaenar Dimasangal, 74, was hit by the concrete post on the head while Julius Carlo Mendiola, 23, sustained injuries on his legs.
A video posted by Pjong Laderio on Facebook showed residents carrying an elderly man, apparently Dimasangal, from the rubble.
The power post also hit three tricycles and a motorcycle parked at the corner of F. Varona and Kapulungan streets in Barangay 82 at around 2:30 pm, reported the Manila Police District.
The incident also caused a power supply interruption in the area.
