MANILA, Philippines — Free rides on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 have been extended for another month, the MRT-3 management announced yesterday.
Passengers can ride the MRT-3 trains for free until May 30, according to acting MRT general manager Michael Capati.
Capati said the management decided to extend the free rides to ease the financial burden of commuters amid rising prices of fuel and other commodities.
“This will also allow the MRT-3 to further test its capacity in accommodating up to more than 350,000 passengers,” he said.
The MRT-3 carried 7,227,434 commuters from March 28 to April 26.
