MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) and National Bureau of Investigation confiscated P250 million worth of allegedly smuggled clothes and perfumes during a raid on a warehouse in Las Piñas yesterday.
Alvin Enciso, chief of the BOC’s intelligence and investigation service, said in radio reports that they seized P250 million worth of clothes and counterfeit perfumes inside the warehouse in Perpetual Village Two in Barangay Pulang Lupa Dos.
He said they raided the warehouse after receiving reports that the goods, reportedly smuggled from China, were being mixed with their branded counterparts.
The BOC said it is conducting an investigation to determine the whereabouts of the warehouse’s owner.
