MANILA, Philippines — Nine suspected fixers posing as employees of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) were arrested in Quezon City on Monday.
The suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Kamuning police station 10 at the LTO main office along East Avenue in Barangay Pinyahan.
They were Robert Bocboc, 38; Chris Anthony Parnazo, 46; Gemma Armena, 48; Domingo Mangundayao, 41; Michael Olonan, 29; Hermie Olonan, 31; Ricardo Cagurangan, 39; Jonathan Hermida, 26, and Ramon Olonan, 32.
Station 10 commander Lt. Col. Alex Alberto said they conducted the operation in response to complaints that the suspects were offering clients a quicker processing of LTO transactions in exchange for cash.
The suspects allegedly refused to leave the LTO premises, saying they were working at the government agency, prompting police to arrest them.
The suspects are being held on charges of resistance and disobedience to persons in authority.
