MANILA, Philippines — The number of new COVID-19 cases in Quezon City has dropped to less than 15 per day over the past week.

Citing the latest report of the OCTA Research Group, the local government said the city only recorded an average of 14 new cases per day in the second week of April.

Its positivity rate, which measures the number of positive results of the total tests conducted, also dropped from 1.8 percent to 1.7 percent as of April 14.

In its latest bulletin released on April 12, the city government said there were only 129 active cases, representing just 0.05 percent of the total cases recorded since the start of the pandemic.

The local government reminded residents to continue following health protocols despite the continuing decline in the number of new cases.

Last Friday, OCTA fellow Guido David said only 100 new cases were recorded in Metro Manila, with Manila logging the highest with 18. It was followed by Quezon City with 14, Pasay with 12 and Parañaque with 10.

All other local government units in the region have less than 10 new cases on Friday, with Pateros reporting no new case.
