Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A woman was arrested after she accepted a parcel, which contained four kilos of shabu valued at P27.6 million during a controlled delivery operation in Trece Martires, Cavite on Tuesday.

Leonila de la Cruz, 46, was apprehended in Barangay Aguado at around 8 p.m.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency spokesman Derrick Carreon said De la Cruz received the illegal drugs placed in four motorcycle sprocket boxes, which originated from India and arrived at the Port of Clark on April 9.

The suspect is being held on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
