DAVAO CITY MANILA, Philippines — A diarrhea outbreak in Laak town in Davao de Oro has left three persons dead.
A state of emergency was declared in Barangay Nara, where the fatalities and most of the cases were recorded.
The municipal government said 22 other people were hospitalized while 150 households were affected.
The local government unit distributed bottled water and food packs to affected residents.
The Davao de Oro provincial government distributed jerry cans and chlorine and deployed personnel to help assess the cause of the outbreak.
The Department of Health regional office provided medicine and oral rehydration solution to patients.
