MVP Group donates P3.95 million to AFP
MANILA, Philippines — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has received P3.95 million in cash donation and equipment from the MVP Group of Companies.
The military said the cash donations would be turned over to the dependents of the victims of a C-130 transport plane crash, which happened in July last year.
The MVP Group also donated 30 ambulance bicycles to the Philippine Army, Philippine Navy and Philippine Air Force as part of the Makati Medical Center Foundation’s hospital-in-a-bike project.
The AFP also received 12,578 doses of Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.
Five computers were also turned over to the AFP Dental Service.
AFP chief Gen. Andres Centino received the donations at Camp Aguinaldo on Monday.
He thanked the MVP Group for its continued assistance to the military.
“The AFP is fortunate to have partners in the private sector who value the work of our organization and who have continuously organized programs through their corporate social responsibility arm to extend their resources to our soldiers,” Centino said.
The handover ceremony was witnessed by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana; Al Panlilio, president and chief executive officer of Smart Philippines as well as officials of PLDT, PayMaya, Meralco, Maynilad and Metro Pacific Investment Corp.
