MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos is seeking justice for the death of a policeman in a bomb attack by New People’s Army rebels in Las Navas, Northern Samar on Monday.
Carlos vowed to hold accountable those behind the killing of Pat. Havie Lovino, 30, of the First Provincial Mobile Force Company.
Lovino and other government troopers were on their way to their headquarters after receiving their COVID booster shots when the rebels set off improvised explosive devices in Barangay San Miguel.
Two other policemen and three soldiers were wounded.
Carlos said a province-wide pursuit for the rebels is ongoing.
