MANILA, Philippines — Three suspected gunrunners were arrested in Imus, Cavite on Friday.
Jazon Gamazon, 37; Lyle Irish Peña, 31, and Romar Bejasa, 29, were apprehended in an entrapment in Barangay Palico IV at around 3:50 p.m., police said.
A caliber .45 and two 9mm pistols, a shotgun and a carbine rifle as well as a Toyota Vios were reportedly seized from the suspects.
Brig. Gen. Antonio Yarra, Calabarzon police director, said the suspects had been under surveillance after authorities received reports on their illegal activities.
The suspects reportedly owned a gun store, which they used as a front to supply loose guns to criminals.
The three face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act in relation to the election gun ban.
