2 jailed Pharmally execs seek house arrest
MANILA, Philippines — Two detained executives of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp. have asked the Senate to place them under house arrest on humanitarian considerations.
In separate motions filed on March 22, Mohit Dargani and Lincoln Ong urged the Senate Blue Ribbon committee to order their release from the Pasay City jail.
Ong and Dargani are the director and corporate secretary, respectively, of Pharmally.
They have been detained since November 2021 after the Senate cited them in contempt for refusing to answer questions about the allegedly overpriced government procurement of COVID-19 supplies.
Lawyers for Dargani and Ong argued that there is no definite date when they will face the Senate panel as Congress is on recess.
