Nueva Ecija council bet held for gun ban

CABANATUAN CITY – A candidate for councilor in Gapan, Nueva Ecija and four others were arrested for violating the election gun ban.

Elizalde Tinio and his companions were apprehended on Wednesday, according to reports reaching acting provincial director Col. Jesse Mendez.

A caliber .45 pistol, two .38-caliber revolvers and bullets were reportedly recovered from the Toyota Altis of the suspects.

Initial investigation showed police conducted pursuit operations after a woman reported that the suspects beat up her minor child in Barangay San Lorenzo.

The suspects are also facing charges for child abuse.
