Vico starts campaign with market vendors
MANILA, Philippines — Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto will kick off his campaign today for a second term as local chief executive of the city in the company of market vendors.
Sotto will start his campaign at the Pasig Mega Market at around 8 a.m.
Joining Sotto are Rep. Roman Romulo, who is seeking another term as congressman of Pasig, ang Sotto’s vice mayoralty bet, Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr.
They are running under the local party Giting ng Pasig.
Sotto is running against Vice Mayor Iyo Caruncho Bernardo, who recently filed a cyber libel complaint against Sotto after the mayor told Bernardo to do his job first before criticizing the city government’s performance.
In Mandaluyong, former mayor Benjamin Abalos Sr. will attend mass at the San Felipe Neri Church on the first day of the campaign.
Expected to join him is his daughter-in-law Mayor Carmelita Abalos, who is running for vice mayor of Mandaluyong.
Abalos and his allies will then hold a motorcade in Mandaluyong on Saturday.
