BF Homes eyes grave threat raps vs congressman’s son

Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The BF Federation of Homeowners Associations Inc. will file a complaint for grave threat against the son of House Deputy Speaker and Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. and his companions for beating up one of its security guards, an official of the BFFHAI said yesterday.

Lawyer Delfin Supapo Jr., chairman of the BFFHAI legal committee, said they are collating pieces of evidence against the group of Kurt Mathew Teves, who attacked security guard Jomar Pajares over the weekend.

“Ang timeline ko, basta ASAP ito,” Supapo said in an interview on dzBB.

Among the charges the BFFHAI is eyeing against Teves and his group is grave threat based on Pajares’ recollection of the incident.

“Based on the testimony of the guard, tinadyakan, sinuntok at tinutukan siya ng baril. ‘Yung pagtutok ng baril, at least grave threat na ‘yun,” Supapo said.

Among the evidence against Teves are the sworn statements of witnesses and a copy of video footage, which showed the congressman’s son and his companions beating up Pajares.

Asked if the victim would agree to a settlement with Teves, Supapo said, “I cannot answer that. Ang aming concern is ma-file muna ang kaso.”

Sugapo also defended Pajares whom he said was only implementing the regulations of the subdivision.

While the congressman has a property at BF Homes, Supapo said the younger Teves is not a registered resident of the subdivision.

The vehicle which Teves used does not have a sticker from the BFFHAI.

“Nagbigay siya ng ID niya, tapos tiningnan ng guwardiya, nakalagay doon Negros so walang proof of residency,” Supapo said.

If Teves was indeed a resident of BF Homes, Supapo said he should be aware of the rules of the subdivision.

The elder Teves said the incident could be “politically motivated.”

“I don’t know why they are trying to hype it up in the media. I think it is politically motivated,” he said. “If it’s really my son then file charges.” – Ralph Edwin Villanueva
