Bong Go visits EAMC
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go visited the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) in Quezon City on Monday as he emphasized the government’s commitment to a more inclusive and efficient provision of public health services.
Go led the turnover of P235 million in financial assistance to the EAMC from the Office of the President (OP) to upgrade the hospital’s medical oxygen generating system and to help underprivileged patients.?
In his speech before the hospital staff, Go acknowledged that several Filipinos in remote areas still lack access to essential health services.
His team also provided meals, food packs, vitamins and face masks to 2,891 EAMC personnel and 945 patients.
They also gave select health workers new shoes, bicycles and computer tablets.
Go, who chairs the Senate committee on health, vowed to push for measures to expand the capacity of the country’s healthcare system.
The OP also turned over P100 million each to the National Children’s Hospital, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Philippine Orthopedic Center and the National Center for Mental Health.
