MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos will continue to experience hot and humid weather this week due to the easterlies or the warm air coming from the Pacific Ocean.

For the next three to five days, warm temperatures will bring isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

PAGASA said no low-pressure area (LPA) was expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility.

Although the absence of an LPA means that the country will experience good weather during the week, hot and humid weather will still prevail across the archipelago.

Metro Manila is expected to have temperatures ranging from 25 to 34 degrees Celsius.

Baguio City will be cooler at 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.

Last week, PAGASA officially declared the beginning of the dry season or summer as the amihan or cold and dry air brought by the northeast monsoon has ended.

“The public has been advised to take precautionary measures to minimize heat stress and optimize the use of water for personal and domestic consumption,” PAGASA administrator Vicente Malano said.
