BOC seizes P6.9 million shabu hidden in toys
MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has confiscated at least a kilo of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with a street value of P6.9 million concealed in 31 dinosaur toys from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In a statement yesterday, the BOC said the packets of shabu were discovered when the package containing the toys passed through the X-ray scanning machines upon arrival from Malaysia.
The BOC and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency are preparing charges for violations of drug and customs laws against the package’s consignee, who was not identified.
