MANILA, Philippines — More than P1 million worth of shabu was confiscated from five drug suspects during an anti-narcotics operation in San Juan City on Friday.

In a report, Philippine National Police chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos said authorities arrested Crescencia de Dios, Anthony Tuazon, Haron Bangaran, Jalani Matud and Lenith Buenaflor in Barangay Ermitaño.

Police said they recovered from the suspects 15 sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.36 million.

“Our widespread network of sources helped our personnel to verify the initial reports that we receive and we act on them accordingly,” Carlos said.

Carlos ordered PNP members to intensify the war on drugs.

The suspects are being held by police on charges of drug trafficking.
