Shabu lab raided in Caloocan
MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics officers raided a purported methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu laboratory in Caloocan City on Friday, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said yesterday.
In a report, the NCRPO said operatives from the city police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Bureau of Customs discovered the laboratory in a house behind a drug store during an operation in Barangay 23.
The anti-narcotics officers confiscated white liquid in 10 metal containers, three metal pails and 28 plastic containers as well as aluminum trays, a rice cooker, a vacuum pump, metal containers, a sealer machine, a refrigerator, assorted precursors and essential chemicals, laboratory equipment and documents related to financial investigation, according to the report.
Police said no one was arrested during the raid, but several suspects linked to the operation of the laboratory were apprehended in a drug sting in Cubao, Quezon City on March 9.
P1.8 million drugs seized in San Juan, Muntinlupa
Meanwhile, police arrested nine persons and confiscated P1.86 million worth of shabu in separate stings in San Juan and Muntinlupa since Friday.
Philippine National Police chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos reported that Cresencia de Dios, Anthony Tuazon, Haron Bangaran, Jalani Matud and Lenith Buenaflor were caught in a drug bust in Barangay Ermitaño, San Juan on Friday.
Police seized 15 sachets of shabu worth around P1.36 million from the suspects.
In Muntinlupa, Maria Camacho, 51; Arnold Mendoza, 42; Michael Pilares, 36, and Thorne France, 19, a high-value target, were arrested over 75 grams of shabu valued at P510,0000 in SMI Village, Barangay Sucat at past midnight yesterday. – Ralph Edwin Villanueva
