PITX hosts seminar for driver’s license renewal

MANILA, Philippines — About 50 public utility bus and jeepney drivers who needed to renew their driver’s license underwent a free seminar at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) yesterday.

In a statement, PITX corporate affairs head Jason Salvador said the seminar covered road safety and defensive driving techniques; traffic laws, rules and regulations; Land Transportation Management System portal registration and comprehensive driver’s education.

This was followed by an online validation examination.

Salvador said the seminar is a “big help” for the drivers.

The LTO-PITX Parañaque Licensing Center was inaugurated last month.

Aside from license transactions, the LTO also provides vehicle registration services through its mobile arm, LTO on Wheels, as well as emission testing and third party insurance.

The LTO on Wheels, however, only visits the PITX on Saturdays.

The LTO said it plans to add more registration services in the licensing center soon.

“We would be seeking the help of different agencies and organizations to bring the services closer to the people, regardless if they are passengers or drivers,” Salvador said.
