Contact tracing continues in Davao City

Edith Regalado - The Philippine Star

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The contact tracing system being implemented as part of the COVID-19 response in this city is ongoing.

“Our traditional contact tracing remains. If somebody turns out positive for COVID-19, his or her close contacts will still be traced,” local pandemic task force spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser said.

She clarified that only the expanded contract tracing through the Safe Davao QR (DQR) was suspended under an executive order issued by Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Schlosser said the city government continues to comply with the Department of Health memorandum on contact tracing, isolation and quarantine protocols.

“Our DQR scanning was typically used to expand our contact tracing although we still ask people now to get a DQR for vaccination purposes,” she said.
