Cloudy skies, light rain over the weekend

Michael Punongbayan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of the country are forecast to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain and thunderstorms over the weekend.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said no low-pressure area is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility.

In its three-day weather outlook, PAGASA said the shear line or the meeting of the cold and dry northeast monsoon and easterlies or warm air from the Pacific Ocean is affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and the Visayas.

The state weather bureau said the northeast monsoon would bring isolated light rain in Northern and Central Luzon.

Easterlies affecting other parts of the country will bring warm and humid weather with isolated thunderstorms.

Temperature in Metro Manila is forecast to range from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.

In Baguio City, the temperature is expected to be between 14 to 24 degrees.
