MANILA, Philippines — President Duterte has appointed former environment undersecretary Edilberto Leonardo as a commissioner of the National Police Commission (Napolcom).
Leonardo, appointed on Feb. 14, will serve a six-year term representing the Napolcom’s law enforcement sector. He replaced Felizardo Serapio Jr., whose term of office ended on Feb. 11, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said.
Prior to his appointment as Napolcom commissioner, Leonardo served as undersecretary for protected areas and special concerns for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources while serving as the executive director of the DENR’s Anti-Illegal Logging Task Force.
Leonardo completed his Master of Arts in Educational Management at the Rizal Memorial Colleges in Davao City in 2009 and obtained his executive doctorate degree in Leadership-Public Management at the University of Makati in 2019.
