MANILA, Philippines — A 34-year-old man was shot dead in front of his family in Quezon City on Monday night.
The shooting happened in front of the Oppa K-Grill along Qurino Avenue in Barangay Pasong Putik at around 8:10 a.m., according to a police report.
The victim, Gil Francisco, his partner and five other relatives were about to go home after having dinner in the restaurant when two men on a motorcycle approached.
One of the men pulled out a handgun and shot Francisco several times. The assailants then sped off.
Francisco, who was seated in the driver’s seat of their Toyota Hi-Ace van, died at the scene.
Probers recovered five bullet casings from a .45-caliber pistol at the scene of the shooting.
The victim’s body was brought to a funeral parlor for autopsy.
Police are looking for leads to identify the assailants and their motive.
