MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics officers arrested five persons for alleged possession of over P300,000 worth of drugs in Taguig City on Saturday night.
Norhaima Guiamadel, 35; Johria Latip, 19; Saguira Datuan, 35; Jojo Basilio, 27, and Maida Usman, 20, were apprehended during a sting at around 8:10 p.m.
Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said the suspects allegedly yielded 11 sachets of shabu weighing about 50 grams.
“Our operatives are relentless in conducting anti-drug operations in southern Metro Manila and are working toward stopping the rampant distribution of shabu in our communities because many crimes being committed are hinged on drug use,” Macaraeg said.
The suspects are being held on charges of drug trafficking.
In Parañaque, an estimated P350,000 worth of drugs was confiscated by police from 53-year-old Johnny de Leon in Barangay San Dionisio on Saturday.
Police said they recovered from the suspect at least 51 grams of shabu.
Charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being readied against the suspect.
