MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is all set to observe Fire Prevention Month in March.
In a memorandum circular, the BFP laid out its month-long activities that include programs on fire safety awareness which aims to reduce fire incidents in the country.
The fire bureau will hold a kick-off program in the first week of March. Among the activities are caravans, motorcades and parades.
The second week of March is designated as BFP Community Relations Week and focuses on strengthening the relationship of the bureau to the community through games, arts and music contests and fire simulation exercises.
Even if the country is still facing the COVID-19 pandemic, the BFP said it continues to prevent fires across the country.
The BFP is hoping to reduce the occurrence of fires in March by eight percent.
