P1.5 million drugs seized in Caloocan, Taguig

MANILA, Philippines — Police anti-narcotics officers seized an estimated P1.54 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu in Caloocan and Taguig on Thursday.

Around 150 grams of shabu with a street value of P1.02 million were confiscated from Nasser Kamensa, 24, in Barangay 178 in Caloocan City at around 6:50 p.m., Metro Manila police chief Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said.

Kamensa is being held on charges of drug trafficking.

In Taguig, seven suspects were arrested in a sting in Barangay Maharlika at around 2:45 a.m. that yielded P520,000 worth of shabu.

Rasul Gaylon, 18; Camilla Tabawan, 32; Dennis Ramir Bonifacio, 35; Samson Taha, 18; Litlie Laguialam, 23; Naora Saadudin, 38; and Theresa Reciproco, 41, were allegedly caught with 76.5 grams of shabu.

Meanwhile, the fifth most wanted drug suspect in Metro Manila was arrested in Barangay Bungad, Quezon City on Thursday at around 12:15 a.m.

Jonathan Estanol, 44, was caught with three grams of shabu and five grams of marijuana, both valued at P20,400.

The suspect is also facing charges of illegal possession of a firearm and violating the election gun ban after a .38-caliber revolver was found in his possession. – Ghio Ong
