2 die as truck falls off cliff

INFANTA, Quezon, Philippines — Two persons died while four others were injured when a truck fell into a ravine in this town yesterday morning.

Driver Roberto Vicente, 58, and his passenger Joseph Galang, 47, died at the scene of the accident that occurred in Barangay Magsaysay at around 8 a.m.

Taken to the hospital for treatment were Norly Buco, Virgillo Chico, Marilou Sangil and Archie Vicente, 30, all of Calumpit, Bulacan.

Initial investigation showed the truck developed engine trouble, causing the driver to lose control of the wheel, according to case investigator Cpl. Samuel Gobangco.

The truck came from Bulacan and was headed for Infanta to deliver construction materials when it figured in the accident.
