MANILA, Philippines — A health worker in La Union won the P70.2-million jackpot in the 6/58 Ultra Lotto draw on Jan. 14, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) reported yesterday.
The winner claimed the windfall at the PCSO head office in Mandaluyong City a week after the draw, according to PCSO general manager Royina Garma.
The winning ticket was bought from a lotto outlet in San Fernando, La Union.
The winner picked the six-digit winning combination 53-10-19-21-42-47, which had a total jackpot prize of P70,258,716.80.
He said he had been playing lotto for 10 years and never won. He said he kept on playing because being a frontliner in a hospital in La Union, he is aware of the charity programs of the PCSO.
The winner said he would use the money for his children’s education, help his relatives and invest in business.
