Ex-TV talent nabbed for drugs

LAGUNA, Philippines — A former television personality was arrested in a sting in Sta. Cruz town in this province on Friday.

It was the second time that Mark Joven Olvido, 35, was arrested for the same offense, according to a report received by the Laguna police.

Olvido was a runnerup in the television show “Pilipinas Got Talent” Season 6 aired over the now defunct ABS-CBN network in 2018. He also appeared in movies.

Police said they seized from the suspect five plastic sachets allegedly containing shabu with a street value of P85,000 and marked money.

Olvido was driving a tricycle when he was arrested in Sitio Maunawain, Barangay Duhat at past 10 p.m.

Police said the suspect was first arrested in May last year for allegedly selling illegal drugs.

He was released from detention after signing a plea bargain agreement.
