Cop arrested for rob try in Mindoro hardware

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Village watchmen arrested a policeman who tried to rob a hardware in Barangay Sta. Maria in Gloria, Oriental Mindoro on Friday night.

Barangay tanods Jay Semilla, 37, and Necole Pilapil, 22, were conducting routine patrol when they heard a noise from ABC3 Hardware, which is owned by Allan Mantaring.

The watchmen found pliers, screwdrivers and a hammer, which were believed used to destroy the doorknob.

A man, who was later identified as Cpl. Leonell Maranan of the Technical Support Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, was arrested as he emerged near the establishment.

Maranan was turned over to the municipal police station.
