Comelec junks DQ case vs Raffy Tulfo

MANILA, Philippines — A disqualification case filed against journalist and senatorial candidate Raffy Tulfo has been dismissed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
In a nine-page resolution, the Comelec Second Division said petitioner Julieta Pearson failed to prove her allegations on Tulfo’s misrepresentation of his legal spouse, the period of his residence in the Philippines, his pending criminal case and his alleged dual citizenship.
Pearson claims to be the legal wife of Tulfo.
“The petition does not have any legal leg to stand on. Hence, it must be denied. Other matters deserve scant consideration,” read the resolution signed by Comelec acting Chairman Socorro Inting and retired commissioner Antonio Kho Jr.
The resolution was promulgated on Dec. 16 last year, but was released to reporters only yesterday.
Pearson filed the disqualification case against Tulfo on Oct. 25, 2021 over alleged misrepresentation of his spouse.
