Family of NPA rebels surrender

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Four members of a family who are New People’s Army rebels surrendered to the 94th Infantry Battalion (IB) in Barangay Camingawan in Kabankalan, Negros Occidental on Tuesday.
Lt. Col. Angelo Guzman, 94th IB commander, said a squad leader of the Central Negros Front 2, his wife, his brother-in-law and his mother also turned over an M16 rifle, a caliber .30 M2 carbine rifle, magazines and ammunition.
Guzman did not identify the rebel returnees for security reasons.
