Expanded F2F classes launched in Parañaque

MANILA, Philippines — The expanded face-to-face classes through “hylearn learning” formally reopened at the Paranaque National High School main campus on Monday amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pilot run of limited in-person classes was approved by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez has expressed support to the DepEd in welcoming children back to school as it started its pilot of limited and voluntary in-person classes in minimal-risk areas.

Olivarez also led the distribution of additional laptops, tablets and android phones to students and internet connectivity to the school campus and other needs of “our students in the continuation of our hybrid learning.”

Teaching and non-teaching personnel involved in the pilot were also required to be vaccinated against COVID to ensure the learners’ safety.

As for the participating learners, only those who were able to secure consent from their parents and have no comorbidities were allowed to join the classes.

Present during the relaunching were city schools division superintendent Evangeline Ladines, Rep. Eric Olivarez, barangay chairman Noel Japlos, school supervisors, principals and faculty members.
